Allegro

Designed in Melbourne’s inner north, Allegro bicycles & accessories are the work of Richard Ayling, who desired to produce an Australian brand with as much local design and production as possible while minimising the social and environmental impacts of manufacturing.

The hallmark of an Allegro bicycle is its high-quality custom butted steel or aluminium tubing that is both lightweight and compliant for excellent ride quality. Every Allegro is equipped with either Shimano and SRAM drivetrains and components especially chosen for the Aussie commute.

Each bicycle is handcrafted meticulously in the city of Taichung in Taiwan, with all parts coming from no more than a 50-kilometre radius. This minimises the carbon impact to the environment and helps to support local production. Richard also chooses his mates carefully – only happy people – which means fair pay for labour, and good times over good tea whenever they meet.
