The Merida Silex 300 gravel bike sits in the adventure road bike category thanks to its versatility and ability to tackle any challenge. You get road style geometry with drop bars so that you can get up some real speed on the road and especially on the dirt or gravel. The Silex 300 is built with a lightweight 6066 triple butted and hydroformed aluminium frame with upright gravel geometry for stable yet nimble handling. Featuring internal cable routing and BB86 bottom bracket, this frame is optimised for both functionality and looks. The Silex is equipped with a 1x11 speed SRAM Apex drivetrain for simpler shifting, reduced weight and an easier riding experience. Merida equipped the Silex with Tektro Spyre disc brakes so that you have control in any conditions, a noticeable improvement over rim brakes. Tyres are an x-factor on a gravel bike, and the Silex is equipped with Maxxis Rambler tyres which are semi-slicks with side knobs which can be inflated for riding on the road or deflated for better traction off-road.
